What makes us different

At Canine Ardor, we believe that every dog deserves to move comfortably, feel confident and navigate the world with ease. Whether it’s recovering from an injury, building fitness, or developing behavioral life skills — our approach goes beyond quick fixes. We focus on the dog as a whole, because physical and emotional well-being go hand in hand.

Unlike conventional physiotherapy, which often targets isolated issues with passive treatments, our approach looks at how everything connects. A sore paw or limp might not just be a local issue – it could stem from poor posture, muscle imbalances, or compensatory movement patterns. That’s why we don’t just treat symptoms — instead we address the underlying root cause and mechanics of movement to create lasting change that supports long-term health and performance.

Our behavior training follows the same thoughtful approach, whether it’s cooperative care, multi-dog dynamics or other challenges. We prioritize clear communication, cooperation-based, modern scientific methods, and strategies tailored to both the dog’s needs and the handler’s goals — building confidence and teamwork every step of the way.

  • Individualized Care: Every dog is unique. Whether your dog is recovering from surgery or suffering a chronic condition, excelling in sports, or managing anxiety or aggression, we customize each plan to your dog’s specific needs and goals.
  • Connection Between Mind and Body: Recognizing that physical health impacts behavior (and vice versa), our approach integrates behavior knowledge into bodywork to provide comprehensive care.
  • Holistic Movement Analysis: We believe that pain and mobility issues rarely exist in isolation. Our expertise in movement mechanics ensures that every aspect of your dog’s posture, gait, and muscle use is evaluated to create a treatment plan that goes beyond surface-level symptoms.
  • Active Movement Therapy: Beyond passive treatments, we focus on teaching your dog how to move better. This includes exercises that improve posture, stability, and overall strength.

Who Am I?

I rely on an assistance dog every day, and that experience has shaped everything about how I work. I know firsthand how important mobility and confidence are—not just for sport or working dogs, but for every dog. When I help improve a dog’s posture, strength, and resilience, I’m not just treating a “case.” I’m helping someone’s partner, teammate, and best friend live their best life.

My love for learning is a big part of what drives me. You’ll often find me watching webinars, reading studies, or digging into new techniques just because I enjoy it. This constant curiosity keeps me up-to-date with the latest in physiotherapy, movement science, and canine behavior, so I can provide your dog with care that’s backed by the best research and tailored to their unique needs.

How we serve you, and your dog

Our goal is to support not just your dog’s health, but your journey as their trusted partner. Here’s how we ensure that your dog gets the best possible care:

  • Clear Communication: You’ll always understand your dog’s progress, exercises, and next steps. We’re here to answer your questions and guide you through every part of the process.
  • Education and Empowerment: You’ll learn how to recognize subtle changes in your dog’s posture, gait, and behavior, so you can take proactive steps to maintain their wellbeing.
  • Collaborative Care: If your dog is receiving veterinary treatment or working with other specialists, we’ll work closely with your entire care team to ensure a seamless plan that supports their health and welfare.
